This tune is composed by the legendary French (as in, from France) accordionist Serge Desaunay. Serge started off playing with La Chiffonnie, a groundbreaking French folk group of the '70s. After that he spent several years playing music with his brother Patrick. Après La Pluie (1979) and Le Beau Temps (1984), the two albums released by the brothers, are regarded today as milestones in French folk music. His current band, Rue du Canal (named after another waltz written by him), came together 2013 primarily as a vehicle for performing Serge's compositions while also indulging in musettes, tango music and even a bit of klezmer.
